Our Expert Brokers are not just trained employees, they are charterers also! 

Crewed yacht charter broker –Emily Mack–started working as a crewed charter broker in 2003. She has been an officer on the Board of Directors of CYBA since 2009. She has served on the Ethics Committee, is currently on the Environmental Committee and is the Liaison between CYBA and the British Virgin Island Charter Yachts, (CYS). Emily goes to the Virgin Islands several times a year to inspect the yachts and interview Crews. She has an in depth knowledge of all of the yachts and she personally knows the crews that she recommends. Emily is an avid charterer herself and sails the BVI as often as she can.

Crewed yacht charter broker –Ellen Stewart–a yacht charter broker of 24 years,is an active member of the Charter Yacht Broker’s Association (CYBA) since 1992, Ellen recently held the Vice President’s position. She has also served on the CYBA Board of Directors as the Treasurer for 6 years and is currently a member of the Ethics and Membership Committees. Ellen is a top charter broker and is highly skilled at matching the best Virgin Island charter yacht to her clients. Her knowledge of the area is unsurpassed, giving you excellent service. With the advantage of being based in St. Thomas, if a new boat joins the fleet, Ellen makes it her priority to go meet the crew and inspect the boat.

Bareboat charter broker – Melody Delgado – first started chartering in the Virgin Islands 24 years ago and has chartered almost every year for the past 17 years! Melody has relocated for a year to Cane Garden Bay, Tortola where she will be meeting more clients, inspecting more yachts and of course, enjoying the Caribbean atmosphere in her down time. Additionally, she has bareboat chartered in the Leeward Islands, Windward Islands, Bahamas, Tahiti and Australia.

Bareboat charter broker – Joann Higgins – is a true charter expert, having worked in the charter industry for over 14 years! Most recently she lived on Tortola for 4 years while working for the Catamaran Company and experiencing first-hand the requirements of delivering a flawless charter. Joann is a natural on the water having also chartered and vacations in many other worldwide locations.

Mega yacht charter broker – Tim Nelson – is one of the first United States charter brokers to become a member of the prestigious Mediterranean Yacht Broker Association (MYBA). Tim is also a member of the Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA). He specializes in charters on yachts over 100' worldwide and every year attends the major international charter shows for these large yachts. Tim scours these shows to find only the finest yachts and crews to offer to his clients!

The proprietor/owner of Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. - Tom DeMartine - and his wife Sylvie started working in the yacht charter industry in 1981 as captain and crew on charter yachts.  Tom works very closely with all the Expert Brokers and is personally familiar with over 1,000 charter yachts in the Virgin Islands.  He is always available and makes himself readily available to our clients.  Tom was the Chairman of the Ethics Committee on The Charter Yacht Brokers Associations (CYBA) Board of Directors from 2003-2008 and served on their board of directors many years prior.

Price & Other Services

Our fee is paid by the yacht owner or company. We do not own any yachts, our recommendations are completely objective, entirely focused on our clients' interests. We have built our reputation on providing prompt, friendly, accurate and professional service.

Due to the large volume of charter vacations we arrange each year, we are able to offer a complete service. We can help with discount airfare, comprehensive trip insurance and give good hotel advice.
