At a recent press conference held during the Strictly Sail Miami Boat Show, Sunsail announced the newest addition to its fleet, the revolutionary Sunsail 444 catamaran, available for charter exclusively with Sunsail.  With an innovative forward and aft cockpit design, the custom-built 444 ensures a unique and comfortable on-the-water experience.

If you liked her little sister, the Sunsail 384; then you will love Sunsail’s newest 4-cabin / 4-head catamaran, the Sunsail 444. This yacht comes with air-conditioning, onboard generator, electric windlass and all the latest navigation technology from Raymarine. The 444 handles superbly under power and sail with deep narrow groove hulls and shallow draft that make it possible to sail closer to the wind than many other catamarans.

Revolutionary Forward Cockpit

This yacht really stands out from the competition with a pioneering design that makes the forward cockpit accessible from the main salon. The forward cockpit features a folding table and covered seating, which provides even more room for a relaxing with a sunset cocktail or two, as well as providing great natural light and cooling breezes into the saloon and aft cockpit.

Cheryl Powell, Chief Operating Officer for Sunsail said, “This revolutionary new catamaran really pushes the boundaries in yacht design and innovation. We are continually working with our customers to understand their charter needs, while working closely with our industry partners, Robertson & Caine, to challenge conventions and meet these needs. The Sunsail 444 is a perfect example of this; she is unique and exemplifies Sunsail’s continued commitment to innovation in the marine industry and the development of providing world-class sailing vacations.”

Innovation & The Environment

Similar to the Sunsail 384, the exterior of the Sunsail 444 has been extremely well-planned with an extended aft cockpit hardtop providing excellent shade and weather protection, while a powerboat-style stepped transom enables easier boarding. Environmental considerations were central to the design with solar panels installed on the helm hardtop to charge the onboard batteries; saving an estimated 20 percent on engine hours and increasing the lifespan of the onboard batteries by up to five years.

The Sunsail 444 offers four spacious double cabins, each with their own en-suite bath, as well as two single forward crew berths in the hulls, providing comfortable accommodation for up to 10 passengers. The vertical front windscreens give superb panoramic visibility from the saloon, which is designed to offer open-plan living and dining.

The Sunsail 444 will first debut in Croatia, Greece and Turkey for 2011 summer sailing vacations; then arrive in the British Virgin Islands and St. Vincent for winter 2011/2012 departures.
